The Italian Genealogical Society of America

Our Mission

The Italian Genealogical Society of America is a non-profit educational organization founded in 1994 by several genealogists across the U. S., working together to promote Italian genealogy through research, writing, lecturing and instruction.

The Society strives to promote more work in these areas, offer better access to genealogical materials on the civil and parochial levels, encourage preservation of genealogical and historical materials, and foster a greater awareness and positive action in the field of Italian genealogy, all of which in both America and Italy.

Members across the country assist each other with research interests in person at meetings and via the newsletter and correspondence.

For Italian family historians, the time has come for an organization dedicated to Italian genealogy. The Italian Genealogical Society of America can help you learn...

...how to find your ancestors and even living relatives on both sides of the Atlantic.

...how to get started with the basic methods and resources of genealogy

...advance research techniques from professionals in the field

...more about your Italian heritage

...more about your family than you ever dreamed.

...more about yourself!
